Cocktail Wedding Reception

A Cocktail Wedding Reception is an ideal way to personalize a reception, while still keeping a budget tightly controlled. This can be an extravagant event with elegance and uniqueness, but will ultimately help you save money.

Typically a cocktail reception will be given in the early evening-late afternoon hours(as early as 4PM but no later than 6PM) and will end in the evening(no later the 7:30PM) so you guests will have time to search out their evening meal.

The typical fare are Hors d'oeuvres which can be passed, served buffet style of some combination of both. Menus will should include a variety of hot and cold appetizers, as well as fine cheeses, breads, fruits and crudites.

There is no requirement for a bar, but traditionally you would offer and assortment of hard liquor, mixers, wine, champagne and soft drinks. To truly personalize the event add a signature cocktail, you can use something popular. like a mint julep or cosmopolitan, or choose something more to your personal taste. Make sure to give the guests the option to choose sweet or savory variations.
