Newly Proposed and Recently Married

We meant to say this the other day...A special congratulations to all of our newly engaged Valentine's Day couples...

I think Valentine's Day is a wonderful day for any couple to start their journey towards the altar together. I would have proposed on Valentine's Day, but simply put I couldn't wait that long. I did pick a Holiday incidentally, I proposed on Labor Day. That's me MR. Romantic.

I also want to congratulate any couples finishing this crazy process of Wedding planning this weekend. I think it is a wonderful time to get Married and hopefully the whether was nice where you are.

Wedding Readings #2

Here are a couple more readings I have come across...Just thought they were lovely and decided to share with my friends.

"Song of Solomon"
King James Bible version

My beloved spake, and said unto me,
Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.
For lo, the winter is past, the rain is over, and gone.
The flowers appear on the earth, the time of the
singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle
is heard in the land.
The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the
vines with the tender grape give a good smell.
Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away

Mark 10

But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder.

"I Ching"

When two people are at one in their inmost hearts
They shatter even the strength of iron or of bronze
And when two people understand each other in their inmost hearts
Their words are sweet and strong like the fragrance of orchids.

Wedding Questions?

I have recently found the website Yahoo Answers. This webstite is fantastic. You simply enter the question you have and you will get responses from hundreds of people.

I was answering some questions earlier about wedding. It was great. Even if you are internet shy, you will still be able to read the answers to questions other people had and get the advice from hundreds of other people.

I think I am going to add Yahoo Answers to my wedding checklist. I will consult there just as I would consult my friends and family.

Fresh Flowers vs. Artificial Flowers

So Is it still tacky for wedding flowers to be Artificial?

I am not sure in this day and age you can always get the fresh flowers you need, especially if your Wedding is in the time of year that our is. We have been discussing this topic for weeks now and our conclusion is in order to afford flowers for the Wedding we are going to have to sacrifice Fresh for Fake.

The range of Artificial flowers to choose from is immense and we are locating more and more options. The best part of this is we can start buying the flowers now instead of waiting till the week of the Wedding. This will be beneficial in two ways...

1) We will know exactly what the centerpieces and Bouquets will look
like, now (and not the day of or before the Wedding).

2) We will not have to worry about deliver mistakes.

This will both be a good thing and also help relieve some stress.

This Wedding does have a budget and no matter what Aunt Dolores says at the reception...This is our day...So we will enjoy it.

Wedding Guest List

So I am not sure why Theknot.com is so insistent on finalize our wedding guest list already...

I am sure it has something to do with knowing how many people so you can pick a venue and but the right amount of everything.

I suggest ten months out to know how many you can invite and who you must have at the wedding...But don't worry about specifics. You should have a final guest list by six months prior so you can send "Save the Date" cards.

well that is my opinion anyways...Anyone else have a feeling on this?

Wedding Blogs

I have been researching Wedding ideas. I have read what must be 100 wedding blogs and wedding websites in the last two days. I am finding it very exciting to find new ideas and see how other people planned and celebrated their "special" day.

I know at least I am not alone in this process and even though Minnie is still studying for her test I feel comfortable in this planning process. I am very excited about our Walt Disney World Honeymoon... I have spent just as much time today looking at Disney.com and planning our Honeymoon.

I can't believe you can't make flight reservation for over ten months away. Well only a few more days and we can.

Honeymoon

I recently had a comment by a new reader about Honeymoons. I guess I never shared our Honeymoon plans. We have actually knew where we were going on our Honeymoon before we knew we were going to be married. It should be pretty obvious with our Pseudonyms:

Disney World is the destination we have picked for a few reasons...

1) The time of year Disney World is decked out in Holiday decorations that are second to none.
2) We are disney freaks.
3) We want to share this Honeymoon spot with our future children, really where else can you bring your kids too.
4) My parents booked the trip the night we told them when the Wedding was going to be.

So I suggest Disney World to all my readers as a Honeymoon destination...Just remember it isn't just a place for kids, it has beaches, Nightclubs, amusement rides and What bride doesn't want to wear Minnie ears with a veil attached for all to see she is the new MRS...

Christmas Wedding Ideas

Some great Ideas for our Christmas Wedding that we are toying with...

  • Clear or white Christmas lights wrapped in white tulle give a soft effect.
  • Cover the chords with white ribbon edged with gold to make it look like a decoration too.
  • For a religious touch, you may use Christmas carols for your wedding music and sing as many as you like. Some of the favorite Christmas carols will make your guests sing along loudly too.
  • If you have other wedding colors in mind, you can match you Christmas lights to them.
  • Simple wreaths with white bows edged with gold or silver make great wall decorations.
  • Swags of white silk poinsettias with gold-tipped centers can be used to decorate the walls and tables for the Christmas wedding for a festive but elegant look.
  • Tables covered with net and having centerpieces of a glass bowl filled with Christmas ornaments look quite pretty. You can later give out these ornaments as wedding party favors.
  • Topiaries of any size can be used as table centerpieces.
  • You can decorate your church and wedding hall with lots of romantic and pillar-shaped candles and use ivy and berries for traditional Christmas wedding décor.
  • You can give a candlelight dinner to all your guests or make candle table centerpieces for your Christmas Wedding.

Free is the best price for help

I just spent a few hours on Theknot.com. I am really starting to enjoy that site...I have been able to find just about everything I need for the wedding planning there. They even have a great budgeter application. You input details like how many people and how much you have to spend and it formulates the exact number you can spend in each category. It also lets you input your entire guest list, so you can keep track of everything online. The to do list option helps keep track of everything you need to get down for the Wedding and it tells you exactly what and when it needs to be done.

I think the best part of Theknot.com is the fact that it is free...No service to sign up for just free help, free advice, free wedding planning tools, free everything.

Valentine's Day

I was trying to steal some time with my Mickey, but now he's left the room, so I just get time with the computer. I spent a couple hours tonight watching Rich Bride Poor Bride and Bridezillas on WE. I'm lucky to have my guy. He's obviously into wedding planning. I'm loving this stage of our relationship, and our wedding this Christmas is going to be the best day ever.

He doesn't yet know what he's getting for Valentine's Day. But it should be a happy one. Happy Valentine's Day, everyone. Let me know how yours went :)

p.s. Big test coming up so I'll be studying a lot the next few days, but never fear, Mickey is here to keep you updated on the goings on of our little lives.

I am Super-Groom

Well it is morning now...A new day is upon us and we will seek it out with all possible haste...We have decided to make the most of today and are in the process of looking at Bridesmaids dresses and color scheme for the wedding...Christmas Wedding and we are still having trouble with colors...Who knew there were so many different reds out there and who know we couldn't choose between them.

I am the luckiest guy..I still can't believe Minnie wants me to help pick the color scheme with her...Most grooms are ushered to the back but my fiancee wants me involved in everything.

Rehearsal Dinner

The main problem with a Christmas Wedding is finding time for a Rehearsal and Rehearsal Dinner so close to Christmas (12-27-2008). We have started researching wedding rehearsal dinner ideas, with finding a restaurant close enough to the Catholic Church we are being wed in the most important part. We are worried that the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner will be the most annoying part of the process to the people we invite.

We want to celebrate our wedding with those closest to us and we think that means the deserve a nice dinner...It is also a time for us to relax and thank those you made it all possible...Any ideas?

Budget, Budget, Budget

Well the meetings with the parents are all over...Everyone has committed to contribute and we are well on our way to planning this wedding...We are planning on a Christmas Wedding (12-27-08). The ceremony will be in a Catholic Church which is beautifully decorated and we are excited by the priest who will be saying the Mass.

The reception is more troublesome...We are in love with the Saphire Estate and we wish to have the reception there but it is expensive...We love and with a little figuring we should be able to have it there...We are looking at possibly having a Brunch instead of a Dinner for the reception...So if anyone has anything to say on the Subject it would be appreciated...Christmas is a great time for families and what is a better way to have a family gathering than at a Wedding...I am psyched for this Christmas....

Hallelujah lyrics

Here are the lyrics to Hallelujah the Jeff Buckley version as made famous by the American Idol contest. Hallelujah can be purchase through this amazon link.

Grace
Hallelujah

i heard there was a secret chord
that david played and it pleased the lord
but you don't really care for music, do you
well it goes like this the fourth, the fifth
the minor fall and the major lift
the baffled king composing hallelujah

hallelujah...

well your faith was strong but you needed proof
you saw her bathing on the roof
her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
she tied you to her kitchen chair
she broke your throne and she cut your hair
and from your lips she drew the hallelujah

hallelujah...

baby i've been here before
i've seen this room and i've walked this floor
i used to live alone before i knew you
i've seen your flag on the marble arch
but love is not a victory march
it's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah

hallelujah...

well there was a time when you let me know
what's really going on below
but now you never show that to me do you
but remember when i moved in you
and the holy dove was moving too
and every breath we drew was hallelujah

well, maybe there's a god above
but all i've ever learned from love
was how to shoot somebody who outdrew you
it's not a cry that you hear at night
it's not somebody who's seen the light
it's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah

hallelujah...
