Creating a wedding registry should be one of the most enjoyable parts of the Wedding Planning process- you are after all picking out the gifts and goodies you'd like to receive as you start your new life together. This excitement could be accompanied by anxiety- too many choices, should I ask for this, etc. Here are some tips for you on how and what to register for. Hopefully this will keep any anxiety to a minimum. These keep with the times and are updated to consider the 2008 wedding trends and themes.
Where to register? You will probably want to keep your registries to a minimum (3 is good, 5 is really the max) to help your guests find gifts. Consider the selection and quality of the items a store carries. Amazon.com is a great start. Your guests will appreciate the online convenience, and you'll be able to find most anything there. Department stores are another great option. You can select the items to register for online, or in person with a Registry Representative. With this option your guests can choose to go to the store and pick something out, or they can enjoy shopping from home.
What to register for? Don't register for items you feel like you should want (but don't); register for the items you want and will use. Consider that your guests will have different budgets. Make sure you register for small or inexpensive items, but it's also okay to register for a big ticket item- maybe a few guests will want to chip in together. So, include everything from towel sets, to that plasma TV.
Who to bring? It's okay to seek the advice of your Bridesmaids and Mother, but leave them at home when it comes time to set up the bridal registry. This is a time for just the bride and groom to go out together. This is a mutual wish list, and you want to make sure both of your tastes are reflected, after all, they are gifts for you as a new couple.
A couple things to remember:
Have items shipped to your parents' or another close relative's house before the wedding, and shipped directly to your home afterwards.
Make sure you check your registries periodically to keep them updated. If there's nothing left that isn't already checked off you may end up with 12 towel sets or 6 toasters. (And that defeats the purpose of the registry ;))

Wedding Readings #5
Ephesians 5:31-33:
31. As the Scriptures say, "A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one."
32. This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one.
33. So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
~Song of Solomon 2:8-17:
The voice of my beloved!
Behold, he comes
Leaping upon the mountains,
Skipping upon the hills.
My beloved is like a gazelle or a young stag.
Behold, he stands behind our wall;
He is looking through the windows,
Gazing through the lattice.
My beloved spoke, and said to me:
“Rise up, my love, my fair one,
And come away.
For lo, the winter is past,
The rain is over and gone.
The flowers appear on the earth;
The time of singing has come,
And the voice of the turtledove
Is heard in our land.
The fig tree puts forth her green figs,
And the vines with the tender grapes
Give a good smell.
Rise up, my love, my fair one,
And come away!
“O my dove, in the clefts of the rock,
In the secret places of the cliff,
Let me see your face,
Let me hear your voice;
For your voice is sweet,
And your face is lovely.”
Catch us the foxes,
The little foxes that spoil the vines,
For our vines have tender grapes.
My beloved is mine, and I am his.
He feeds his flock among the lilies.
Until the day breaks
And the shadows flee away,
Turn, my beloved,
And be like a gazelle
Or a young stag
Upon the mountains of Bethel

Dance Lessons?
When planning your Wedding Day keep in mind that there are certain universal traditions that everyone will expect the newlyweds to include. These range from Cutting of a Wedding Cake to Throwing the Bouquet. What can be the most terrifying of these for non-dancers is the first dance a married couple.
It has become a recent trend for the engaged couple to choreograph their first and last dance with a dance instructor. This can be very helpful to keep the stress off of this portion of the night, as well as being a nice way to relieve some of the day-to-day stresses of the wedding planning process.
It is easy to find an instructor. Just look in the yellow pages or do a google search for Dance Schools. Then call the closest one and ask if they offer private lessons to engaged couples. Ask if they offer a package deal to get you on your feet. Most will be able to help, and in fact look forward to this fun experience.
Things to keep in mind:
I just won't have a dance- It is not a good option to just not have a first dance. You'll be missing out on a very memorable experience, a great photo opportunity, and you'll disappoint all those guests who were looking forward to seeing you and your sweetie showcasing this very romantic moment.
Start practicing early- The worst thing is to look uncomfortable dancing with your new mate
Practice at home- Remember to take time to practice so you look comfortable. Just put on a romantic song and hold each other tight. This is a lovely way to spend a Saturday night.
Keep dancing- Even after the Wedding is done, spend some time dancing together in the living room. It is a great way to reconnect with your most beloved after a tiring day at the office or with the kids.
Dancing is meant to be enjoyable. Don't fret over it. And remember that even if you can't afford or don't want lessons, you should dance at your wedding. It is always an option to hold each other and dance in a circle, just like you did at your first dance in Junior High School. It is about showing how much you love each other and letting everyone see you doing it.

Wedding Gown Sleeve Options
There are many options when it comes to Wedding Dress Sleeves. A walk through any Bridal Salon will show that by far, the most common choice these days is the strapless gown. If you wish to try something else, whether it is for modesty's sake, what suits your body best, or any other reason of personal preference, you have plenty of options.
Spaghetti Straps- These take some of the emphasis off the exposed areas of your chest and back, and hold the dress up. They do not provide much more coverage than a strapless dress.
Halter- Halter tops can be very flattering, although not ideal for all body types. This is a great option if you want to show off your back and shoulders while covering up your neckline. Halter necklines can be fun and flirty or classy and elegant.
Sleeveless- You have some coverage on your shoulders and necklines, but the dresses straps don't entirely cover your shoulders
Cap Sleeves- These can be very sheer lace, or they could be the same material as the rest of the dress. Cap Sleeves are very sweet and romantic.
Short Sleeves- These cover your shoulder, but leave most of your arms bare.
Three-quarter length Sleeves- These can also be sheer or opaque, lace, satin, or other fabrics. These are great if you want your arms to be covered, but not overwhelmed.
Long Sleeves- Again, these sleeves can be any number of fabrics. Long sleeves provide warmth, coverage, and a classic look.
Bell or poet sleeves- Long sleeves that flare at the wrist.
Off-the-shoulder- Either long or short sleeves that rest off the shoulder add interest to the look of the Wedding Dress, while still showing off your shoulders.
Many dresses can be ordered with your choice of sleeve. Even if it is shown as strapless or having spaghetti straps, you can ask to add sleeves to make the dress your own.

Wedding Favors - Tips On Choosing The Right Wedding Favors
By Pius Ephenus guest author and the owner of Planning A Wedding Resources.Com.
While wedding favors may be one of the simplest parts of planning a wedding, they can also be the part which is often left until the last minute. Luckily, you will almost be spoilt for choice so you won't have to worry too much about having a problem deciding what to go for. There is no longer any need to get stressed about what favors you intend to use with the large range it should make your decision easier and take less time.
One option for an easy wedding favor, especially popular with the ladies is flowers. The preparation for flowers is almost non existent other than deciding on what flowers to use which can be ordered reasonably close to the big day.
Red roses always look attractive and of course they don't have to be wrapped like many other flowers. It is simple to have these placed by the caterers on the day just prior to the wedding reception.
Unfortunately flowers do no appeal to everyone, but with three in every four receptions using candy, this is an easy wedding favor that will. Some people now use a more convenient way to present candy to their guests. Now, how simple is a large glass bowl filled with candy going to be in the centre of the table?
Supplying each wedding guest with a small tin or other presentation container so they can fill it with whatever candy they wish. This could be called a self service gift because all you have to do is supply the candy and something to place it in.
Although candy is popular, you may wish to give your guests a picture frame which is longer lasting and more useful. This is a good idea but wrapping this type of wedding favor can put many people off especially when there are a large number of guests. By using the picture frames as placeholders provides a way around this, making it a gift that does not need to be wrapped.
Another easy wedding favor option to end this article is to arrange for a professional photographer to attend the wedding reception and take a photo of every couple as they arrive looking their best. The photos can be printed out whilst the reception goes on and the guests will have a pleasant surprise at the end of the evening when they leave as their photo will be waiting for them. It is a nice gift and a wedding favor your guests will appreciate when they leave with a photo of how they looked on your wedding day. Many professional photographers have purchased small digital projectors so there is no reason why you couldn't request one at the reception and this way your guests could see the images that had been taken during the day.

Tips for Choosing A Great Wedding Cake
By Kristi Patrice Carter guest author and writer at wedding-cake-idea.com.
Choosing your wedding cake is not an easy decision! There are so many different things to think about that you could spend hours in the bakery discussing designs, colors, flavors and more. Of course, you want everything to be perfect, so it's a labor of love. There are some really great tips for choosing the perfect wedding and they will help you save time as well. Simply decide on the following things before you head for the bakery and you will be more prepared and ready to make a decision.
Theme
Does your cake need to fit a certain theme? For instance, are you having a tropical or Hawaiian themed wedding? If you need to fit your wedding cake into a theme, you may not have to make as many decisions as you thought. One example of a great tropical or Hawaiian themed wedding cake is to have tropical edible flowers, a citrus flavor such as key lime or pineapple and to use soft, tropical colors like pastel green or peach. This is one way to certainly narrow down your wedding cake choices and may save you a ton of time.
Guests
How many guests are you serving? Would it be more practical to have a small wedding cake and matching, small table top cakes? Or, do you want to get one huge cake to serve your guests from? By deciding this, you will already know what size cake you want to order, so this will save time as well. The small table top cakes are great if you're finding it hard to make up your mind as far as one color or design. If you get smaller ones which accent the large one, you can do more in the way of decoration.
Style
There are so many different styles of wedding cakes available now that your choices really are unlimited. If you are a traditional person, you can opt for the traditional and beautiful white wedding cake. If you're modern and stylish, go for a square tiered wedding cake, or alternating squares and circles. There are many different choices and you can use your own personal style to help you decide.
Choosing your wedding cake might still be a labor of love, but it doesn't have to be frustrating or difficult. By deciding which style, colors, themes and decorations that works with your existing plans, you can find a wedding cake in no time. Or, simply find the cake that works with your existing theme and you're good to go. Using the tips above, find the perfect wedding cake for you!
If you're tired of traditional and expensive wedding cakes and want a unique, delectable, and creative wedding cake that doesn't break your budget, then you should visit http://www.wedding-cake-idea.com We're your number one resource for creative and unique wedding cakes for special and budget-conscious couples like you!

Groom's Guide to Wedding Planning
So you spent the better part of your life trying to figure out the opposite sex and now either you have come to the conclusion you will never figure them out, or you have found the only gal you can understand. Either way congratulations, you have entered into a very select group of men called Grooms. With these simple steps I will help you become a Super-Groom and your Bride will be able to relax that much more.
Step one
Realize this is the only time you have ever asked someone out and are not expected to plan the day. She is in charge from the moment the ring goes on the finger. It is your responsibility to be her support. You must care about the Wedding planning (even if you don't). She expects you to help pick out the flowers, even if you have never done so in your life.
-Remember, have an opinion about everything Wedding related, but also remember that her opinion is better and say things like: "I never saw it that way" or "what would I do without you"
Step Two
You will need to actually plan a few things, including the Rehearsal Dinner (Traditionally the groom's parents host this event). This Rehearsal dinner is a low-key event held as a "thank you" to your attendants and special family members. It doesn't have to be fancy, but it does have to be well thought out. It will happen after a very long day and it needs to get everybody ready for the Wedding which is usually the next day.
Step Three
Pick your Best Man and Groomsmen. These are your brothers and buddies. (If you can fit him in, it is always a good idea to include the Brides brother; after the ceremony he will be your brother, too). Make sure they know what is expected of them (they are not to ruin the wedding). Then you get to dress them and yourself in the attire entirely of your choosing (as long as the bride agrees)
Step Four
Give the Best Man some Bachelor Party Ideas and expressly warn him he may not ruin your Wedding by have a Roman Orgy. You don't have to do anything you don't want to do and you should be clear with your Best Man what is out-of-bounds at the party.
Step Five
Freak out
Step Six
Purchase tokens of appreciation for you attendants. These Bridal Party Gifts should be from the heart as a "thank you" to your nearest and dearest friends. It is also a good idea to buy something special for your Bride and give it to her before you separate the night before the Wedding. I think something like Pajamas or jewelry could work, but if it is heartfelt and you consider her feelings first, anything could work
Step Seven
Freak out again; you are getting married, to the only girl in the world. She will be with you from now on. Remember why you picked her and everything will work out great.
Step Eight
Make sure you have the marriage license and the blood testing required to be wed. Bring it with you to the church or ceremony site. Put it in you breast pocket. Also make sure you give the bride's ring to the Best Man for safe keeping.
Step Nine
Plan your Honeymoon. Anywhere you both can relax and enjoy the beginnings of married life.
Step Ten
Say "I Do" and enjoy the day.
Remember these are just the beginning; your bride will help you, just like you will help her. Also remember that the bride's to-do list is closer to 200 and you are getting off easy with these ten things. She loves you and you love her, so enjoy the time you get to spend planning this party, but remember that it is the life you are planning that is far more important.
